The car has been designed to exude a premium and luxurious appeal. Verna boasts of a fastback silhouette and features black chrome parametric grille, LED headlamps with Horizon LED positioning Lamps & DRLS, Z-shaped character lines, 205/55 R16 Diamond cut Alloy wheels, satin chrome door handles, and auto fold ORVMs. The side profile of the car is characterized by chiselled surfaces and a distinctive fast-back side design. The rear features Parametric Connected LED Tail lamps and a shark fin antenna.

Verna offers spacious and luxurious interiors with dual-tone beige and black interiors, 64 colour ambient light, premium leather upholstery, soft-touch inserts on the crashpad and door trims, leather wrapped premium two-spoke steering, leather wrapped gear knob, multi-purpose door pockets, glovebox cooling, and a centre armrest with storage.



All-new Verna elevates customer aspirations through advanced technology integration. The car features a digital cluster that is integrated with an infotainment screen in a single floating type of panel that provides superior openness and gives a hi-tech digital cockpit feel while displaying a wide range of information. The car also features a seamlessly integrated 26.03 cm HD navigation system and a digital driver information cluster. The drive mode select is linked to ambient lights and offers customers a choice of 3 modes – normal, eco and sport, while the lighting within the cabin automatically changes to suit the driving style. The digital cluster offers the driver information such as fuel economy, drive information, parking distance information, music Information, and works with voice commands in up to 10 regional languages and two global languages.


Verna boasts of next-gen innovations that elevate customer engagement and in-cabin experience to a new level. The car features a Switchable type of infotainment and climate controller, which helps in achieving a clutter-free dashboard. The car also features Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) technology, which includes features like Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), and Lane Departure Warning (LDW), making it a safe car to drive.


Hyundai Verna comes with two engine options - a 1.5-litre MPi petrol engine that delivers 115 PS of power and 144 Nm of torque, and a 1.5-litre turbo GDi petrol engine that delivers 160 PS of power and 253 Nm of torque. The 115PS engine is paired with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT, while the more powerful turbo can be had with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT. The car delivers an impressive fuel economy of 19+ km/l for the MPi petrol, while the turbo version delivers a little over 20 kmpl.



Overall, Hyundai has done an excellent job with the new Verna and ensured that it comes with some cutting edge technologies on board. It is a premium sedan that will compete against the likes of the Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus and Honda City. Hyundai has priced the Verna rather well, with the range starting from INR 10.9 lakh and going up to INR 17.3 lakh.
