Hyundai Motor India Ltd., has revealed the 4th generation Tucson that will go on sale in India shortly. This premium 5-seater SUV is their global bestseller and in India, it will be their flagship offering. Being brought in as a CKD, the new Tucson boasts of a futuristic design and class-leading innovation.
Design
Hyundai Tucson is a muscular looking SUV that uses a play of creases in the sheet metal to deliver a stunning appearance that is bold, fresh, and futuristic. The front grille has a cascading look with hidden headlights, which is a class-leading feature. The body flows seamlessly in an almost coupe-like fashion and the rear gets a modern twist with very neat looking LED taillights.
Cabin
The cabin is finished in premium quality plastic, leather, and fabric. Space is at an abundance as Hyundai has stretched the platform to ensure that rear passengers get ample leg room and shoulder room. The highlight of the cabin is front dashboard that has a two-pod inspired design with the only break being the large centre touchscreen interface that gives access to a plethora of infotainment and connectivity features. Other key features include 4-spoke steering wheel, soft touch door panels, 64 colour ambient lighting, a piano black centre fascia and high-quality metal inserts to add to the luxurious appeal.
Comfort and Convenience
All-new Hyundai Tucson comes with a host of convenience advanced connected features. Featuring a 26.03 cm floating type digital cluster that displays personalized themes, turn-by-turn navigation, front and rear parking sensor display, Drive Mode Select (Normal/ Eco/ Sport/ Smart) and Multi Terrain Modes (Snow/Mud/Sand). Hyundai has also equipped the Tucson with multi-air mode for cabin air quality, front ventilated and heated seats, voice command enabled controls, a panoramic sunroof, and a high-end audio system from Bose.
Performance
Hyundai is offering the new Tucson with both petrol and diesel engine options. The 2.0 litre petrol unit delivers 156 PS of power and 192 Nm of torque, while the 2.0 litre diesel motor churns out 186 PS of power and 416 Nm of torque. The petrol variant gets a 6-speed automatic, while the diesel version benefits from an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Safety
The all-new Hyundai Tucson sets a new safety benchmark through a combination of advanced safety features with Hyundai SmartSense (ADAS). The all-new Hyundai Tucson has been developed on the 3rd Generation Compact (N3) platform that results in achieving best chassis strength and superior safety. Body structure has been strengthened with AHSS (Advanced High Strength Steel) & HSS (High Strength Steel) application and an extensive application of hot stamping to assure of superior protection in the event of a collision.
