Design
New Brezza looks larger than its predecessor as Maruti Suzuki has managed to extend the dimensions to the very corners allowed in the sub-4m category. The result is a stunning looking vehicle that is proportionate and comes with neat styling cues such as the higher bonnet, a bold new grille, contoured panels that add an element of muscle and a squared-off rear with plush taillights to complete the package. The new Brezza rides on 16-inch rims and has a purposeful stance that gives it an element of premiumness as well.
Interior
The cabin has been finished in a dual tone look. Maruti Suzuki has used a copper brown colour scheme against the black plastic which has resulted in a premium upmarket aura to the cabin. The seats benefit from the same colour scheme as well. As far as space on board is concerned, the increased dimensions have helped maximize passenger space and improve rear leg room as well.
Tech
Keeping with the times has meant that a lot of technology and convenience features have been added to the new Brezza. To start with, it comes with a heads-up display unit that gives the driver a plethora of information without them having to take their eyes off the road. The large touchscreen infotainment system also works as the screen for the 360-degree view camera. Brezza gets the SmartPlay Pro+ system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integrated and an Arkamys surround sound system too. For the first time, Maruti Suzuki has introduced a sunroof on the Brezza with this new model.
Performance
Under the hood lies the new K-Series 1.5 litre petrol engine with a smart hybrid system. The dual jet VVT engine delivers 103 PS of power and is an extremely peppy unit that suits the characteristics of the new Brezza while keeping efficiency in check. In the 5-speed manual version, it returns an average of 20.15 kmpl while in the 6-speed automatic you get 19.80 kmpl. Known for its refinement, the engine is extremely silent, and you will be hard-pressed to hear it within the cabin.
Verdict
With the new Brezza, Maruti Suzuki has delivered a fantastic package that ticks all the right boxes. It delights in the manner that it drives, pampers you with the creature comforts on board, is easy on your pocket- both from a daily usage and ownership point, and is now equipped with smart technologies that match the best from the competition as well. The icing on the cake is the enhanced safety package that includes up to 6 airbags, ABS, hill hold assist and ESP.
